JScript seems like a more interesting place to spend energy. I'm not interested in VBScript but it looks like I'll have learn some of it just to be able to read the mix of scripts that are in the examples and will be made by others in the future. Any advice from people on VBScript vs. JScript?

What's the story for Python? Is Python accessible from the LinkEditor?

I see it is still available in the "ScriptManager" outside the LinkEditor. I'm not a regular Python user, but it seems to me a nice object oriented language and seems still worth supporting as a LinkEditor language.

I guess the first question is being talked about in this thread (http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showpost.php?p=542&postcount=3).

my advice would be use Jscript. There isn't much difference in difficulty but there seems to be better support on both the truespace side and Microsoft side... ie there seems to be more fuctions availible

here's a great link to the microsoft docs for jscipt

I can't find the link now but Microsoft declares both jScript and VBScript are equally 'strong'. There are some special features, present only in one of them (e.g. regular expressions in jScript), but overall is is only question of taste and habits which one you choose (e.g. guys with former C/C++/Java experiences will choose jScript, Basic/Pascal users will most likely choose VBScript). I guess VBScript syntax is more intuitive and friendly for non-programmers (no semicolons, no parenthesis code blocks, no cryptic math formulas like a++, b*=3 etc).
