Supposed to be excellent..I watched Batman Begins again the other night as well as the Gotham Knight animated DVD that just came out. It is excellent and reminds me of the Animatrix DVD...but with Batman stories.

I am away on vacation for a few days but hope to see this movie when I get back...:D

I can't wait to see this movie. The first one took me by surprise as it was a serious look at the Batman character. No zap zing boom cartoon style punches in these two.

Yup..best movie of the year hands down...this is for sure oscar worthy.and I hate the oscar stuff...in second place Iron Man...but go and see it...Heath did a fine job with the Joker...and now they really can't bring him back..because it will be very hard to follow that performance up.

This Movie was being discussed right before the big news here. I finally came out of my 3D hole and went to see The Dark Knight.

Three scenes blew me away. No details to spoil it for others.
1) Truck Chase
2) Hospital
3) Dead Batman;)...(I threw my back out)

The Joker was much better than I could have imagined. Fantastic villain.

Saw this the other day; absolutely excellent movie, so much more than a superhero movie that really brought home the sheer lunacy of terrorism.

One of the best I have seen this year!

astonishing! heh, went to see it at the IMAX (the screen it was made for lol), truly its a whole other experience.

Interesting reading how Double Negative did the effects. Biggest problems were that because they used special native IMAX format, 65mm, 15 perf cameras, for many of the effects scenes, they had to build proprietry compositing software to replace 'Shake' as it was unable to handle it. They also had to employ a further 100 terrabytes of hard drive space to take the captured footage of which a single frame of IMAX, at 8.4K full resolution is 200 MB of data, whereas a standard 2K frame is 10 MB of data.

I went to go see it on opening night. One of the best movies I've ever seen in my life. They can't put enough extras on the DVD release for me.

Went to see this over the weekend, and very good indeed. I remember liking Jack Nicholson's joker a lot, since as an actor he is also good at portraying these slightly off-kilter characters, so I was wondering if this new version of the joker could really compete, and indeed it does - an excellent performance indeed, in a very good movie. A shame I couldn't catch it at IMAX though.

Next year sees a bunch of 3D movies (ie ones you wear glasses to see in 3D), including the next Pixar I believe. I saw Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D just a week or two back and it was great! Much better than older 3D I used to watch (70s sci fi things with red and blue spectacles). There were times I was almost swatting things away as they flew at me, so I'm a convert to the concept, it seems much better than it used to be and really does add to the movie and is less of a gimmick.

NVidia graphics cards support 3D glasses I think, not sure how, im an ATi guy lol.

Dark Knight was soooo good! heh, I think though that Christian Bale delivered a dissapointing performance, with Heath Ledger and Aaron Edward Eckhart stealing the screen!

I Just saw this movie, Journey to center of earth, My favorite 3d part was the green glowstick. The mine ride was cool and the glowing birds too.

This movie was very entertaining...Which was more than I could say for the Mummy 3. (Was bored and left early.)

Heck even the credits were in 3D and held my attention from walking out. ( I just had to reach out and swat at them once for good measure)

There is also a record number of 3D movies coming out this/next year, about 13 I think.

The first 3-D movie I saw was Friday the 13th 3 in 3D (1982) That was almost 30 years ago yikes!... and it was not the red and blue glasses...

Do you mean a big, BIG screen or polarised light 3D?

I saw it hear in Adelaide in the old Imax theatre on the big screen but I presume it wasn't the full Imax equipment any more. Still wrapped around the field of vision pretty well. The story was so bleak and the volume so loud my companions and I walked out feeling a bit shell shocked at the end. I admired it in lots of ways ie performances, technical aspects etc - not at all sure I liked it though.
