Nice to follow up with the real stuff. Here is Hemulin's finished project and the guitar posted at the start of this thread. All good stuff and credit to the students.:jumpy: TS in education-I can see it now....;)

Sure Hemulin will chime in here and post a better render but on a serious note, nice work for a 15 year old lad. And, yes TS6.6 was used for the graphics on the packaging too. He's doing Advanced level next year and could really do with TS7 for some collaboration work. C'mon Caligari-raw talent here for the moulding-fancy sponsoring a student with a free upgrade?....

Good works guys. What about whipping up an image showing the original tS visualisation plus the finished article - enter it in the gallery. Someone could maybe win himself an upgrade.

Yeah, I guess that would be original...Hemulin, if you are reading at home...get it sorted before the 31st....;)

Guitar is on school laptop as it is a student project. Images below are 'real' photos (remember them? ;) ) Will get a wireframe later but it is pretty simple stuff really..

Really must get a picture of the finished guitar and the wireframe, they were pretty impressive. Good to see Hemulin has moved out of the student section and into the Beta team with his nice new copy of TS7....still a student, although I will have to wait until August to see just how good he really is...;)

Thought I would share my work from this year. This is for GCSE Design and Technology. My project being a Bike Rack.:)

The idea is that the bike rack acts as a "bike rack" on your car and then you take it off and it acts as a free standing stand for one bike.

bottom images are photographs of when i tested it and top ones are some really crap renders that need some attention. I will post some better ones hopefully when i get time to give the scenes some attention:)

Enjoy!:jumpy:

Thanks for that Mark, about that time of year to refresh this thread. As this is a 3D forum why not post the images you rendered with the bikes...I really like those.

Must dig out some more of this year's work...Hemulin??

cant find the originals so al post the entire page in which they are on...also shows what ts is used for when it comes to using it in the classroom:)

(this was early stages of development, hence the slightly different design)

Good work Mark. While it may not seem too impressive to other seasoned 3D users, you are (or were) 15 years old when you did some of this stuff and in comparison to many other schools in the UK, this is very high level concept design 3D work...you should be proud, I certainly am...:)

Keep it up even after you leave school...and keep well.

P.S

You still owe me money... ;)

Ok, some clever kids I teach so I like to share their work. This girl designed an 'eye pod' dispenser; delivers a silver pod with mini make up products to make a girl 'easy on the eye'...:D

Didn't you already beat me to it Mr Stoker...

Actually, project were excellent but the CAD/CGI work was not so impressive from a few. Still, maybe over half term...:D

While on the subject of students, does Caligari have any plans to bring back the demo competition using tS7.5??

Tom?

I think it's time to resurrect this thread. Here is a mid-development-stage render of part of my A2 major year project.

Please feel free to add your own work to this thread because it would be great to see what stuff other students are creating.

Where are the rivets??

Seriously though, it makes me very proud to see how you have developed your CAD skills over the years to the point where you are 'almost' as good as me...;)

When Hemulin posts quality work I often imagine him saying this (in a deeper voice than he actually has):

"The circle is now complete. When I left you, I was but the learner; now I am the master!".

Any more students out there care to share their work. Students of any age of course!

Aaah, but there is still a long way to go :)

Where are the rivets??

I probably won't put them in until right at the end.

I don't like the way the vent actually touches the hinges; looks like you messed up with your measurements.

That is a design comment by the way, not anything to do with modelling skills...:D

Your right, that vent could do to be lowered so that it is equidistant between the hinges and the latch. The back of the case is still a work in progress and requires some design changes to make it feasible to build.

In short it is a carry case (flight-case) for a TFT monitor. However unlike conventional flight cases this one is designed for you to use the tft inside the flight case for quick and easy setup for purposes such as LAN parties and corporate display stands...that sort of thing. The current render doesn't give much away as it is taken from the back of the case. I don't want to go into too much detail on the forums as this is still very much a work in progress.
