Hi all,

It's first Thursday of the month so there is would usually be a TNL! tonight - as such though, Roman will not be available tonight, and things have been busy here as you can imagine, so no events are organized or scheduled for tonight.

I will drop by though just in case folks are expecting the meeting since this is when it would usually happen. Everyone is welcome as always, though it will just be an informal meeting if folks want to come along.

The most important thing to note is there will not be any discussion of recent events and news - any information I (or anyone here) can give on what is happening is to be found on the website. So while some of you may have many questions, this evening's meeting will not be a place to get answers to them :) So do keep that in mind before coming along.

Note that we have also had some server issues during the day, causing some outages. If you find you can't log in, it will be due to those, while we are working to get the servers up again, I can't promise they will be there.

For those who can come along, I will see you there!

Thanks!

Tom

You can try if you like, I won't crack! Virtual torture holds no fear for me!

But aye, much better if we just get together as normal and chat, perhaps do a speed model challenge, and enjoy ourselves.

Thanks!

Tom

Yeah, Tom's One Tough Nut! :D

Say, maybe we can talk Dele into bringing his Mining game into shared space. Actually, that may not work in teh meeting room. But it was simple yet addictive gameplay Tuesday night.

I ended up with 3 coals, 1 intelligence unit (FINALLY! Cro Magnon status!), and I increased my telekinesis powers once. Cool!

I will try to make it tonight.

Say, how about an Easy Button (if I can make it) ?

Youknow, those Staples things.

I have to admit I am beginning to wonder about my invulnerability to virtual torture with the mention of Celine Dion... at least there is always the exit button! ;)

The mining game is fun, not sure if it will work in the meeting space though, but at least Dele (if he can turn up) can give a bit of a talk about it, as I think it's pretty clever.

Sounds like a few are coming along so that's good, looking forward to it!

We'll see you there!

I couldn't make it unfortunately. :( I was giving my phone interview for that 3d collaboration survey. What did I miss? Did you get Tom to crack. Did the Celine Dion torture work? Ah, probably not...Tom's a rough and tough Texan. :p

No, not a Texan, a Scot, who lives in Texas! Now they don't come tougher and rougher than that, eh? :)

Anyway it was a great evening, thanks to all who came along, sorry you weren't able to make it (hope the interview went well, I did mine a week or so ago). There was much silliness, as well as a good speed modeling challenge to create a snail, the topic being chosen due to Scala's current problem with snails in his fish tank.

With that, plus some discussion on the old UFO television series (and a web search for the Joe 90 theme tune), and some editing of eyeball textures and heat vision beams from Mark, a good time was had by all!

I must say that speed modeling is tough, Congrats 3dfrog. I even tried to create a Snail shell like you offline and I still could not get it to look as good as yours. You are the Speed Modeling champ.....as I bow at your feet....lol.
