Sounds like the scenario from last week worked out pretty well; even dialup users did not get bogged down, which is good. We used a Pause Activity node inside a loop, instead of using a Timer.

So we'll see if we can add on to that this week, or, we can also discuss whatever comes to mind related to truespace.

Arighty that's it for now; I'm pretty wiped... looong week... TGIF.

Just a reminder folks. We'll be having our scriptor meeting at 9 PM Eastern time; which is 6 PM Caligari time, tonight.

I'm not sure if the basic paused loop is still in the scriptorium or not. I'll have to check. But it appears to be a better performer in shared space than a timer, in terms of Download delays. But we'll see. If you want the loop to run at top speed just delete the pause activity. However, when you do, you lose control of the timing.

Someone pointed out (cannot remember who at the moment; sorry! :D ) that with a timer, we have the capability to take or relinquish control of timers in shared space. It looks like we do not have that control with a pause activity. So that's something to consider.

So what can you do with pause activity(ies) and timers? You can create complex, synchronized live animations (no keyframes required), for one thing. Feed the tick count output to a script object connector to cause it to execute.

And other cool stuff.

Anyway. Those are just some thoughts for everyone to play with tonight. What uses can you think of for pause activities and timers? Post them here if you like, and bring them tonight.
