Hi folks. I created a SDK/Scriptor social group today as well, along with the fluid sim user group.

I think it'd be good to have a discussion group like this, in addition to the forums, to have dedicated discussions in the social group, so the techno-stuff doesn't get lost in the forums.

Everyone is welcome to join, or just read the posts of course.

I think the forums and the social group options can complement each other, since some people may prefer to read the forums, and others may prefer a social group focused on a particular range of technical topics.

Enjoy!

Social groups can be accessed here:

I had no clue what they were until I noticed in the control panel after Froo made these posts. ;)

In programming it's always the dumb questions that are hardest, and it's always the dumb ones you can never find the answer to either unless someone shows you...

I believe it's called a "gumption trap"... or some such.

The TS SDK hits you pretty hard when it comes to that stuff, especially with regards to ATL. There's no ATL documentation in the SDK so you need to hunt the stuff down in the MSDN and across the web. So don't hesitate to ask if you can't figure something out. It's a lot easier if you can spend your time solving TS issues than ATL ones. Oh yeah, MFC doesn't work with the ATL version that the TS SDK uses so you need to make sure to only use ATL components when building your dialogs if you decide to build them outside of the TS gui.
