Should I bring the onion dip? No takers last week.

Why not use the calendar for events like this? Maybe post it also with the description of truePlay on your main site too. Anyone downloading it could come see TS7 in action on Thursdays.

I better get more dip.....

I'll be there. So long as I don't forget that is. I seem to be having a hard time remembering things lately. What was I saying? Oh yeah, I'll be there. :)

Some of us had trouble getting into the workshop, so we all hung out on the front porch for brandy, cigars and fine conversation instead.

Trueblue and I grabbed some of your cigars and you don't think you drank ALL of that Brandy do you? Trueplay had issues tonight. I got in once but when I exited the room I could not get back in untill the new objects were gone.

Yeah, sorry I went into one of the Workshops...nobody was there and when I came back out you'd gone :(. Also trueSpace decided it would crash my graphics card so I had to restart my computer and after that I just couldn't be bothered. :o

I'm presuming that the chats are normally held in both of the workshops then?????
What's the "studio" bit for????

yes TP sure was full of problems last night..not just for my 56k modem ..I was in the workshop until the lag became to long so I thought I'd go out and come back in ..but I couldn't get back in, the porch[tp portal] wouldn't load..it would start transfer 0/15 instead of 1/15 get to 100% then stall..once the show was over and everyone left the workshop it loaded..

Hemulin, it was just in the main workshop

I would like to thank Norm for his contribution for the Thursday night meeting. Really awesome stuff here! He discovered the problem that people were not able to enter the Workshop room and proceeded to countinue the meeting in the the MaintpPortal.

I was wondering where everyone was. It quickly dwindled down to just me, Norm, and Mr. Bones in the workshop. I thought it was strange that there weren't many people around. Hopefully next week it will work better.

Speaking of awesome, has anyone viewed the Procedural Animation course?

It is truely wild what trueSpace7 is capable of in close proximity to a good mind

I looked for a thread for the course, but never found one

Yes I saw the sample for the Procedural Animation course. My first thought is that it was very well made and interesting. Great job Dele! It is great to see the face that goes with the name. Hummm...I have always thought that he was very exhausted by the looks of his Avatar. ;)

I downloaded the procedural animation course. It is very well done - the commentary and the video remain well in sync with eachother, topic for topic, which is something I feel is very important in these courses. Watching things happen as they're being discussed far more serves the purpose of these courses, than does hearing about stuff that could potentially happen, which provides the same result as reading the manual - and there are some other trueSpace courses out there that seem to veer off in the latter form.

It's a huge course to download, but I think the more content the better. I've watched all of the foundation chapters up to the truePlay mech portion which I'm saving until after I try out some of the things in the first half of the course. (actually I took a peek at some of the later chapters) ;)

Anyway, so far so good! It helps tremendously in seeing "the big picture" when you see the LE in action.

Another highly recommend course is the one on HDRI. Very thorough, very informative, magnificently structured.

Praise here for just these two courses does not imply that they are the only two that were done well. As there are a few I still haven't checked out. But there are a couple that could have been more..."coursey".

Of course, this course stayed on the right course. It's definitely worth a look. :)

I am very impressed with the Procedural Animation course, just finished last video ;). Well I watch all the video's and then restart from ground zero with sleaves rolled up and trying all the goodies the second time around. The animation creation of the mech and spaceship using procedures is just plain top class stuff done by Délé and convinces me even more That Roman really knows what he is was doing in designing tS7. Also I am very glad I continued my Proteam subscription, these items when they appear, especially the tS7 one's are extremely interesting and fun to play around with.

Délé, WOW! VERY WELL DONE!

I was very sceptical about the LE at the beginning, but recent events and samples have prooven that procedural animation has a bright future. I've just watched the free sample of the new course, and it's impressive how such a task can be accomplished with a few mouseclicks.

Thanks guys. :) I'm really happy to hear that people are liking it. I have to say, the LE really blows my mind. There are sooooo many possibilities. The Procedural Animation course really only scratches the surface. As more people get into it, I think some really cool and interesting stuff will come out of it.

I purchased the procedural anmation course. I've watched a few of the videos but not all yet. I have to say that I find this to be quite fascinating. I started reading through the TS manual looking for definitions for all the various components such as Matrix, OwnerMatrix, WldMatrix, etc. but cound not find this information. Where would I find information on what all the various components are and what they do? It's not enough for me to follow a tutorial that tells me to link A to B and X to Y if I don't know the inner workings of exactly what these do.

By the way, excellent course. It has shown me that V7 is lightyears ahead of previous versions and has great potential for some mechanical animations I need to produce.

Bill: I do not know if this will be enough help. If you downloaded the trueSpace7 Developer's Guide from Caligari and installed it. Look in the folder trueSpace7\tS\PDFMan\DataObjects\ and open the index.htm file.

EDIT: As it turns out, the Developer's Guide, trueSpace7 Data Objects Documentation, trueSpace7 Script Objects Documentation, RSCommandDocumentation, and RSNodeDocumentation all came with the trueSpace7.1 CD.

Thanks trueBlue. I downloaded the Developer's Guide and looked through it but the information I was wanting does not appear to be there. Is there no place that defines what all these names such as WldMatrix means and what exactly it is that they do?

Thanks again trueBlue, and thanks to Bobbins for the explanation in the earlier post. That explained the the Matrix components. But there are many other components such as tx, ty, tz, sx, sy, sz, Mesh, InputMesh, etc. I guess I'll have to just experiment with them to find out exactly what each one does. You would think that there would be some documentation somewhere.

Hey bill,

In chapter2 pt1 I describe what the matrix is. It's a collection of object information. It contains location coordinates (tx, ty, tz), rotation coordinates (yaw, pitch, roll) and scale coordinates (sx, sy, and sz). There are both inputs and outputs for these coordinates on objects.

hth, :)

Hey Délé,

Yes, you did explain that. I was just looking for documentation for what ALL of the different possible items are and what it is that they do. There are many more items available than those covered in the course but there does not appear to be any documentation on what they are. Thanks for creating the course. It will be an excellent resourse for understanding the basics of procedural animation.
