I buckled and downloaded and installed truePlay. I've been having a blast bobbing around and meeting new people but as soon as I press the 'Start Voice' button the whole thing hangs and I have to crash it out and restart it. My mic, speakers, etc - in fact everything to do with audio - on my machine is working fine and I'm not having problems with anything else.


Anyone else experienced this and know why or, more importantly, how to fix it?

Never heard of this one, a crash caused by starting voice chat. Could you zap in an email to tech support about it, which can get the internal procedures rolling on finding out the cause?


Sorry for the inconvenience there, the voice is a whole heap of fun, so if you like tP as it is now, I think you'll like it even more with voice! Hopefully we can get you up and running with that soon.

I believe if you go to control panel/sound audio devices/run wizard in advanced area. Once this runs and successfully completes, try truePlay with voice again.

On the Voice tab of Sounds and Audio Devices Properties panel, see Test Hardware. It starts up the wizard I mention.

Ah! That's on XP, I'm running W2Kpro. Thanks anyway.


Like I said, all audio is working fine (inc Skype), except for the voice function of tP - most peculiar
