Spacekdet I like your latest work but what is "Sketch shader" Test?
Prodigy that panel still is waiting for you! I reclaimed it from the jokester. It wasn't even 3d work.
W!zard I'm surprised you haven't put something there yet. Join the fun.
IBrent have you put something there yet because I don't know your real name and I kind of thought you might have...
Saul, Awesome work! |

It's just a ShaderMagic shader I was goofing around with called 'Pencil_Art'.
Edit: Maybe it *was Sketch shader... ShaderMagic seems to have lost it's mind after I copied a boatload of archived shaders into it... they show up in the folder but not within ShaderMagic window... and lots of them that do show up, when edited, just show a lot of 'error' boxes.
Either that or they crash the renderer.
I love when I do stuff like that. |

Well I am just starting to develop my next piece titled
"Walkin the Plank with me Scurvy Bird, Arrrr"
All updates will be at truePlace in the User's Gallery. Not much to see from me yet but give me time Matey!...I hope others join me in using that place for it's intended purpose!
Madmouse is one of us using it how about you? Pick a panel and start updating.
We can all watch each other's techniques in development. Try to show wireframe whenever possible to help others. A screen grab at various times helps new users too.
So cast yur stuff ashore whilst ya drink yur mead. See ya there matey. Haaar...:) |

Thanks Prodigy and Jack. This one is going to be WAY MORE involved then an Avatar!;)
My working technique is different then most. I already have the work done in my head. Then comes the hard part translating it to screen. I'll look at a blank screen and can see it complete, pick an area then start modeling that part from start to finish. Then I move to the next part. This is not easy to do for most people. In School they would never teach this technique but what Students are doing on paper (or Monitor) I already finished in my head. Why I like my way better is that first I don't lose interest because I'm working on modeling, texturing, and lighting sooner. If it's a bad design or idea I can save countless hours and move on to the next project. For me the design phase is most enjoyable and the rest is work.
W!zard is doing a version of this approach, designing objects and using them in other scenes.
I do something similar to Digitaldali by not reusing the models but rather start from scratch in each project. We probably all share the same feeling of enrichment by design, discover, create, render and show in this 3D world.
One of the funniest cartoons I ever saw was by Gary Larsen showing God modeling snakes with Playdoh "Hey these things are easy" |

Our visitors to the User's Gallery is about to grow rapidly. Radiosity and Caligari have teamed up so we should be drawing a larger crowd soon. |

Better knock together some more frames, and Vis-Queen over anything you don't want tomato juice on. |

> What is he doing?
Walking the plank
>Why does he love lumber?
spacekdet's right, who doesn't
>No, his left foot is not in the air by mistake. Why?
That's easy. Look at his facial expression. It's obvious that his left leg is involuntarily retracting into his torso at a rapid rate. Either that or this is a freeze frame while he's actually in the process of falling over.
>Pirate needs some swabby friends
Ooh, cotton ball chums. Actually, that gives me an idea...
Love this character Stienie. Hoping to see lots more of him in the future. (If Bird gets a parrot costume can he sit on his shoulder? :-) ) |
