Hi Tanshin. Sorry for the delayed response.

I am currently running XP, with an ATI card. I am not sure if there are problems with Vista, but latest nvidia drivers could be an issue. Have you tried older driver versions?

Also, try loading trueplay onto an XP machine and connecting, if you can.

I was able to login successfully just now with trueplay on my XP/ATI machine. It is possible that the trueplay/trueserve server crashed last night. When that happens, the problems you describe may occur.

I can check with Norm (d'Administrator) to see if a crash occurred yesterday.

Hope to see you in shared space soon!

The most recent set of NVIDIA released drivers have problems, and it shows as the screen turning blank (normally blue, the background color).

If this is the case, then the current set of NVIDIA beta drivers should resolve this problem. You can download those here:

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us

174.74 is the latest beta, and installing that should resolve the issue.

Just to clarify, the 174.74 is now WHQL and there is a new beta but, it seems, only for Vista; 174.85. You can get either from here;

Hope that helps.

Just to clarify the clarification :)

I only ever download from the NVIDIA site, and never a third party. On NVIDIA, 169.25 is still given as the current released driver for Vista and the 8x series, and this driver doesn't work.

174.74 is still listed as beta on there, and does remove this bug.

Others of course may choose to grab drivers from any source, but myself I like to stick with the manufacturer.

Glad that worked! Broken 3D link bars happen on some Vista installs, but not all (they work for me, for instance). As a workaround, it is possible just to keep the truePlace web page open, and use that as a way to jump into the particular locations.

For events like TNL! tonight, everyone stays in one place anyway, so you won't need to be jumping around :)
