As I dont have much time to redo all of what I had and I dont want

the cup to be to facetted I have done some reduction on the wheels and struts and the cannonballs have lots less polys now and I also took

away all the not necessary balls from the inside and lots less now on the rope .....

round 900 polys now ! a fraction of what it was ...

very nice! you did a good job there.

Here is a way to make something look smooth (not faceted) .

Just go into mesh edit mode and select the faces of your cup and select the smooth normals tool

From almost 56,000 polys to just 900! That is an awesome reduction, over 98% smaller! That should be a big saver on memory, and should also get you back into being able to render in V-Ray (or at least puts you on track for that). Thanks for sharing the progress :)

Thank you Tom and thank you Kena !

I am already at spending all the gained capacity and experimented

using the softpaint tool for terrain and the hair tool for grass.

I used a wider shape then the standard from the advanced settings.

Rayman, you crack me up! :D

You just decreased your high polygon count and the first thing you do is add grass. Your like Mountain climber Hillary who when asked "why do you want to climb Mount Everest"?

"Because I Can!"

You can also use the hair tool for alpha mapped planes as Parva did in his grass example. I think that will give a better result with less geometry. :)

Thank you Jack !

Unfortunatly I am affraid I will not make it for the deadline

because my main computer is out of order !

I have a problemwith a Lycos company codec and it keeps

restarting windows (Vista) all the time - a well known issue !

I had to bring it to a specialist because I do not want to set up the

whole system from scratch .....all the data on it.

That will keepme busy for some time i´m affraid

but I will keep this thread updated as soon as I´m back onmy system.

I write this from an internet cafe.

´Will be back soon !
