An excellent article on the overall problems associated with maintaining a digital content creation pipeline and how Collada addresses this problem can be found [edit] here (http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=13326), or here (http://www.gamasutra.com/features/20...rnaud_01.shtml).

With the increasing number of vendors associated with all aspects of digital content creation and usage adopting support for this standard, it appears that Collada is fast becoming the "OpenGL" of digital content creation pipelines.

If trueSpace 7.5 would support this format, it could only help to increase its customer base. :)

Sorry about the link. Try this (http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=13326) one.

If the above link still doesn't work, you can sign up for free membership (https://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/join.php) on that website (Gamasutra) to view the article, which includes the first chapter (and some more) of the new book Collada: Sailing the Gulf of 3d Digital Content Creation (http://www.amazon.com/Collada-Sailing-Digital-Content-Creation/dp/1568812876/ref=sr_1_1/104-2388779-1239118?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1175541650&sr=1-1).
