Just an idea I wanted to share.
On Tuesday Night all these Programming Scripting TS users meet and design or program something cool. Why not take one of their inventions each week and put it on display each Thursday Night. Just so the non-programmers can see the value in their efforts. You would have a new device each week to talk about.

I suggested this before but no one ran with the ball...
I put the Meeting Schedule in the Calendar located in the Title Bar above. So now we know which week the Meetings are. If you don't want that just let me know and I will delete. The Schedule runs until Dec 31.

That sounds like a good idea Steinie. I'm still a scriptor learner of course; but I can drop in the flag that we were talking about a couple weeks ago.

We have a section of the evening dedicated to tS users giving presentations, this would be an ideal subject for there - can I put you down for doing that tonight frootee? (I also have to take you up on your speed modeling challenge entry at the moment, unless someone else comes forward!)

I couldnt find the calendar being referred to, but wanted to give the reminder that Thursday Night Live! is now happening every two weeks rather than every week (so there is one tonight, then the next will be Sept 20th). Not enough people are coming forward for the live events, so I can only conclude that there is simply too much going on in the community and we don't want to be taking away from those community events!

Right now there is the Monthly Modeling Contest, the Speed Modeling Challenge, the Interactive Modeling Contest, the Image and Animation Galleries, the External Gallery, and the Scripting Live events on Tuesdays. That's a lot for everyone to keep up with, and we want the community organized events to take priority, so we are moving TNL! to every two weeks to free up people's time.

With luck this means more people will feel comfortable joining in the live speed modeling, and preparing a short presentation. There will be two weeks to practice rather than one, and it should help everyone find time for all the stuff going on without becoming overloaded :)

Thanks!

Tom

I'll try... not sure what time I can logon at the moment.

Speed Modelling? Did I email you that? I must've been sleeptyping.... :p Sure. But I do not know what time I'll be there; maybe when I can login someone can take me up on the challenge! I have not practiced Modelling a computer mouse but I could probably slap something together.... literally! I have an idea that may be considered somewhat... Unconventional. But I think it would look like a cop-out so I'll tell you instead of doing it: Throwing bananaman in there, turning him upside down. DONE! His eyes are the buttons, and he's wireless!

Seriously though, Sure, I'd like to give it a shot: Modelling the mouse, and talking a bit about the flag. I'll try to get home early enough!
