Now maybe this is possible or maybe just too niche for anyone to care...

I would like to have a template over the camera, like sticking acetate over a camera lens so that whatever changes I make like zooming in, panning etc. the picture can be composed within that template.

I have had to tweak so many images for my books because I did not leave enough space for text or found that an object in the scene 'clashed' visually with the overlayiing text.

If you were able to superimpose a PSD template or alph map over the lens then you could compose your shot and see exactly where text boxes or other items would be placed within that image. Would be handy for a great many applications I guess, not just illustration.

Maybe this helps, just try to imagine that whatever you do to the view, the red frames remain where they are so you can adjust the image around them...if that makes any sense.

Or the other option is to find a program that can overlay an image over the whole of your screen, completely separate to trueSpace.

Splinter, I think you could create a template bitmap with your text areas and display it as background -while your scene in shown in wireframe- to frame your scene this way.

Does it make sense ?

Perfect sense although I currently have each sky background visible so I can match the camera to the horizon. I would need to make a second template for each one...lots of messing around. Good idea though. Cheers.

Splinters, if you could do it on workspace side it's possible to make..I know you work on model side so it's just a thought..not sure if the model & ws cameras match views, but if they do I can make it..Gord
