I haven't done much lately but I have been wanting to to try and create a model of a toy that I have and was made back in the 70's called a space wheel. I aslo want to try and cerate a short animation when its finished.

I thinks its a pretty neat toy. Here what I have so far. Its pretty simple.

Hey, I used to have one of those as well. Good start to the model and am looking forward to watching this progress.

Done a little bit of work on the space wheel device, but my modeling skills are not all that good. Its just eye balling it from an attached image as I don't know how to do this any other way.

A small update. It turns out that there is more work to this than I first envisioned as the space wheel has both farily sharp edges and some that are completely round so I will need to use sds. Its good practice though and hopefully I will make it look the way its supposed to look.

add edges to the corners of your weights to keep them a bit sharper, and move that one set of your hexigon in a bit to get rid of IT'S edge.

Yes, I know they need to be the same. I decided I didn't need sds as the side are all really sharp edges so I started over and just modeled one part since it can then be copied and rotated after that's done. I think its almost complete, just need to check the scale and add some stickers that say "this side out". Then I can experiment with creating an animation.

Attached is an updated image.

Are you planning to animate it by hand or using physics?

I have tried any animations yet but I believe the answer is by hand where I just move to spacewheel object to different locations and set the keyframes and also the rotation amounts.
