Thanks Breach.

I think that this is about at my limit for the real-time render.

I used alpha-mapped planes for the fog.

That fog works really well Kena. It's quite surprising how something so simple can be so effective; it really gives your image a bit of an extra edge. Great Work.

Nice Image,

I bet the splend shader would work great for this image.

Thank you both. I don't think that the splend shader works with Workspace though. These days, I try to stay away from the Model side of TS since I'm trying to be ready for when it's gone for good.

Nice Kena... i haven't worked with Workspace side much yet, mind showing the settings for your alpha planes to get such nice fog?

Thanks Breach.

Very nice work kena.

QUE: When you say you used alpha-mapped planes for the fog, do you mean that you also 'erased' from those planes so the shrooms would show through, or only that those planes have a shader/picture on them to represent fog?

They have a picture that I used to make test fog using GIMP... I'm not that good at making fog, but it worked ok here. Let me share the texture with you all.....

This contains the alpha-mapped plane and the actual material for your enjoyment.

Replace my amateur fog with something with more varience, and it should look spectacular and more patchy than mine. very good for general fog effect then, instead of this ground fog.

I used 3 alpha-mapped planes to make mine look good. then I used GIMP and blurred it slightly around the mushrooms where it touched so it looked nice and soft.

Hope this helps someone!!!! Note that I made my planes slightly transparent so that it looked better for ground. I also shifted my 3 planes so that I had a bit more variance in thickness between the three.

Yeah Mate - the Splend Shader works like a dream in Workspace - the Splend RGB shader is totally excellent for landscapes and such - I'm just experimenting with it at the moment but it works like a charm!

I'm with you in avoiding model side - I'm just so accustomed to Workspace model workflows now that the model side seems .... well, clunky! Workspace still needs plenty of fine tuning but it's now my modeler of choice.

Noice. It looks good with the background on it

Why do i think it's in a cave though?

lol - that would have something to do with the cave that is in the rocks in the background....

thanks Kena, will have a look at it tonight...

regarding workspace, i don't have a decent gfx card at the moment so the dx9 realtime looks horendous on my machine, perhaps when I can buy a new card, i will really start exploring workspace in earnest...

well... I've taken several looks at my work, and I really cannot think of something that would improve it without making it look less "real"... so with this being the last day... the last pic is my final entry. :D
