First. im not complaining.. :) im very very happy...

But i found 2 small bugs, but are bugs at last.. indeed i thinking in not posting on the forum, and just e-mail it to Roman or TomG, So.... what ever... i saw few other post.. :)

Ok.. This bugs are very simples but little dificult to find if you dont make what i do..

1) Model Side.. customize the keys (123456 for the views (perspective, leftview, topview, blablablala))

then go to the workspace and do the same... 12345 (ctrl + Right click)

Now go again to the model side.. the customs keys are not working any more... so you cant have the same customized keys on the workspace and model side at the same time...

The second.. vray, Render to selection just click on the workspace.. and open a black image (it must be if the area = 0 do nothing. :D )

I think to ask to be a beta tester.. :D

Cheers!!!

Render selection does indeed render black if you select nothing. What else could it do? :) I suppose it could just ignore the click on the screen but this might confuse folks who think it should do something on a single click too.

If you click and drag just a few pixels worth you need to look in the upper left corner of the vray window to see your rendered part.

Mapping of hotkeys between workspace and model side is a good point. Would probably make the hotkey implementation code more complex though. Would say that 'bug' might be a strong word for what you see because code isn't broken per se. More of implementation choice.

IF you just click the area selected = 0... so... why make a big pop up without nothing???

Just dont do nothing...;) have sense nu???

Makes sense yes. :)

Not harmful of course but perhaps a bit odd to experience with rendering left in.

Hotkeys came up in another thread.

They are context sensitive for the most part, but it is not a good idea to set the same hotkey in model and workspace.

My solution is simple, I add an ALT keypress to one side always. So model side my view selections become ALT 1, ALT 2, ALT 3 etc, and on workspace they become 1, 2 , 3. This avoids the overlap and ensures both sides work. It also means its the "same" key - just I remember in model to hit ALT first, which isnt too bad :)

Note that I choose to ALT the key on the model side because it is the one I use least, so the extra key is needed the least.

Some other functions that have this "cant be the same on both sides" seem to include toggling constraints (X, Y and Z constraints). There are a few others.

HTH!

Nono its a good work arround... but IS a good idea have the same keys on both sides.. just must work like in 7.11 but im not complaining..:)

It's an issue that bugged me, I too wanted identical keys :) There were bigger fish to fry as they say (that is, more important issues to solve), so unfortunately I never did get my identical keys request.

I've found this pretty easy to live with though - but maybe one day it would be nice to avoid this workaround however small it is :)

Thanks!

Tom
