System: 2.66GHz Pentium 4, 1GB RAM, Windows XP Home, Radeon 9000 Moblie graphics card

Here's how I caused the boolean crash in tS7.5 (or just open the provided scene and perform the boolean):

Create cube
Bevel top face 90 inward a bit
Extrude new beveled face down into cube (to create a hollow box)
Quad Divide the object twice
Add two Subdivision layers
Extract final surface from subdivision object
Create a new cube and move it away from the object (non-intersecting)
Boolean-Subtract the cube from the smooth hollow box object
Crash!

If the boolean actually succeeds, undo and try a couple more times. I usually get a crash on the first try, though.

This is a standard test object I create to test my shaders. I've made it with no problems in tS7.11 and earlier.

I tested your scene and I can not get it to crash.
I tried about 20 times. Not sure what to say maybe
your Crash Report will help a Developer figure it out.

Ah, but what happened after 21 times?

Actually, I've found if I turn off the bridge, I can boolean to my heart's content with no problem at all.
