Keyboard Shortcuts Won't Change // Bugs

I find that I can assign keyboard shortcuts, but the old ones remain fixed and won't go away.

Example: in 7.51 I used 3=face for face select and f=front for front view. Now numbers don't work at all and f=face when in point edit mode while f=front (as I set it) only when out of point edit mode - which means I can't use it to change views while in point-edit mode.

When I ctrl/rclick to check them, 3=face and f=front as I set them, but they just won't work. They won't forget their factory settings and they won't allow a number as a keystroke.

I'd like to know if it's just me or if this is true for others. If it is, I'll just have to learn the defaults and live with them until this gets fixed. And if that is the case, can someone tell me where a list of keyboard shortcuts is in the manual?

Thanks for any clues

Thanks, trueblue

I just realized that I am duplicating an earlier question in the bugs forum.

But now I am trying to reset the view buttons to the factory originals (thanks for the link) and they still won't work. I'll just use the buttons for now.

I was just reading the Manual when I noticed there is a backup for the default Workspace Windows Shortcuts. It is named Window.Shortcuts.default located in the C:\trueSpace76\tS\Scripts folder. You can simply rename the extension on this file to xml. IE: Windows.Shortcut.xml

Thanks trueblue,

I did that, but the shortcuts are still not as in the manual (for front, back, left, right). In case you want to check:

Manual: CTRL 4 front / 5 back / 6 left / 7 right

Actual: CTRL 4 right / 5 left / 6 front / 7 back

I can either get used to how they are or use the buttons for now.

you should be able to change them by or altering the entries on the .xml :) worth a try..just make sure what you enter has not been used elsewhere

For reasons unknown my user kbd shortcuts ARE working in Workspace side, and I have the number keys above qwerty set to views 1,2,3,4 keys. These shortcuts do seem to have become resident between restarts without any problems.

Unless I have misunderstood the problem here, somehow or other I have done something that has resulted in me being able to assign kbd shortcuts. The only quirk is that although the keys 1,2,3,4 are now set to views, the particular view opened for say the 2 key is different in point edit mode to model mode... personally I don't find it a problem, but not sure whats going on there.

Anyway for what its worth I have attached my window shortcuts xml

Obviously back up your old one before having a play with this.
(I have set up some additional keys other than views, IE L for loop select.. just change em if they are not to your taste)

Hope this helps
As the forum won't allow xml attachments, I have renamed the file extension to cob, just rename back to xml from cob
