Hi all,

I've been having a problem with Truespace and exporting my models, so I'm looking for any help that might be around.

Problem..

All my faces that get a sweep command export with cracks inside the model in every other 3d model program. The model looks great inside Truespace, but if I export in .X or in .Obj format the model will have cracks any where I did the sweep command.

I've work on a few different models, and the results keep coming up

Here are some pics

Model Inside another 3d app program

Here is another model that does the same inside my 3d game engine

Like I said before, anywhere I did the sweep command either in the model side or work space side gives this result..

any help would be great

Problem fixed. Stupid kind of.. But none the less funny how TS didn't pick up on the error like all the other 3d apps..

Problem is here

Have you tried re-applying UV maps after sweeping? It looks a little to me like it could be a UV map issue, though hard to tell.

You might also try triangulating before exporting, to see if that changes how the render engine displays the exported model.

Any of the models themselves that you could post up, even an artificially simple one that you have tested that gives this problem? We could examine it then for geometry oddities.

Let me know the results of the UV mapping and triangulation tests - btw don't worry about making good UV mapping, just cover the whole model with cubic or something, as a quick test to see what happens.

HTH!

UV Mapping :) The mapping of the image in tS is such that this issue didn't show up. I was wondering about a white line in the image - it could be in fact that in tS, the UV mapping is such that the white line isn't on the object, but slight differences in mapping on the export object make it show up.

Glad you got it fixed though!

Problem was just having the texture short of it's image size leaving a empty area or line down the texture. Pretty much I just got sloppy and truespace forgave me and didn't have a problem has other programs said error here.
