Does anyone have a good guitar texture they could post? I can't seem to get the wood to look like veneer on guitars. Appreciate if you could post a texture file.

It's just a prop, but I want it to look good.

I'm not exactly sure what you're looking for in a wood texture, but we have a free Wood Texture Pack (http://www.ozarkgames.com/smf/index.php?topic=49.0) that you may find useful. The textures are 512x512 .PNG's.

Wowsir! Thanks Keith! I already see a candidate image for the guitar.

Thank you very much!

I've found Mayang's Free Textures (http://www.mayang.com/textures/index.htm) to be a good place to look for textures. I don't know if there are any good guitar textures there or not though. I don't think too many of them are tileable and they can use a little Photoshop work, but hey you can't beat free.

I know I often say this (I promise I am not a rep!) but the simbionts have some really good wood textures, in particular a nice hardwood burl!.

And they are free too...:)

I hope mine helped; or you found what you were looking for elsewhere, either way.:)

Thanks Dele! I have some excellent vector and paint programs and can make seamless textures to solve that problem. :)

Simbionts? Oh yeah, that's Darktree. They have excellent offerings. Thanks Splinters!

There's some great (free) wood textures at http://www.accustudio.com/ too, including some birds eye maple and burl finishes which would be good for guitars - see this page in particular: http://www.accustudio.com/exchange/textures.php?dir=wood

Not sure how you'd deal with a burst finish though - guess you'd need some layering...
