I'm trying to perform specific units to primitives, specifically the three(+two) sided prism.


What I want to do is make sure all three 'sides' (rather then top or bottom) have the same width, such as 15m. Only problem is I can't seem to do one side with out altering the other two sides.


Is there a way to fix or lock the dimensions of two sides while I work on the third?

Can send images, the scene or something??

Lock faces is not posible. but i like to see in more detail what your needs..

Actually, I think I do get your problem, which I gather as follows:

Create a three-sided prism (OK, really just a cylinder ramped down to three sides). The three sides are all equal length. The problem: Lengthen one side while maintaining the lengths of the two remaining sides (i.e. vary one of the interior angles, with the others taking up the change).

Creating the three-sided prism is easy using tS's primitives controls. It's the last piece that's the problem, as selecting one side (i.e. poly) and lengthening it also lengthens the remaining two sides.

Perhaps a geometry solution (need to find my old geometry book for this one), positioning the vertical edges. (Moving the object axis to one vertical edge seemed like it should lead to a workable solution, but selecting one of the free vertical edges and rotating it around z also causes the other, unselected, free edge to rotate, odd).

A better solution, someone?
