Hi,

is it possible to extract, or save or anything, the result of an ClothMotion simulation? Say i simulate the blanket of a table and when it's done and i'm happy, can i save the result for later use?

thanks a lot and sorry for my englisch.

don't worry about your englisch.. mine is wrost hahaahaha :D

Ok.. i think you can.. 2 options here..

1)

stop your cloth sim where you like.
Open the bridge
and in Workspace side use the flatten history tool

2) save your object as obj or 3ds.. that should triangulate your object but may it works..

Maybe there's another way, but i can't remember another..
If you ask me, i choose the option 1 :)

Hope that helps..

hmm...can i ask for idea 2, because i'm still using TrueSpace 6.6 and there is no workspace :-(

And please don't ask me why i still use the old version, my PC is not the best and i'm still happy with v6.6 and for that what i'm doing - normaly - i don't want to install the v7.6.

Thanks a lot.

Ok, maybe i found the answer.

For all the others:

- Start your simulation
- If you happy with the result stop the animation
- Check the "Continue" Box in the "Frame" Page
- Set "End Frame" to 0
- Press again "Start"

That restarts the simulation but with your last result as begin. Now you can save the object.

Thanks for the idea to my brain :-))

Good you find the right one :)

Don't worry DD, 6.6 still being used for many people in this community..

Even older versions like 5 4 and 3.. 6.6 is-was a very solid version of modelside so is not a bad idea still working with it..

Regards

...and 6.6 is effectively the model side of tS7.6 so you are in good company here...some of us are still very reliant on it...:D
