Ok I'm going to put it out there just so I feel better.
1) Why does the manual state the "preferred" way to shut down TS is to use the shut down button, but it is hidden in "Default View".
2) Why are you guys hush hush on your upgrade path? If the next BIG release is Animation focused what is your plan for Modeler purchasers who want the upgrades to Player? Come on Roman just once give me a straight answer.
3) Why do you guys waste your own time with repeated questions about the same things instead of just posting a list of Common Fixes.....32 bit Screen Resolution, update drivers, turn off the bridge,...hech you know them better then me!
4) Your turning people off with some of the things your doing! Why is one string of buttons so small? (I know there is now a quick fix). Why are some Hidden as in my question #1,
5) The save function should have been save as +1 +2 etc. Why do you think people are roaring mad loosing their work from previous saves after a crash?
6) Why can't selected buttons be more clear when selected. Did you even consider the visually impaired? Please work on this!
7) These are basic user functions that repeatedly get asked from version to version. If you want a better product build a solid foundation!

I feel slightly better.

Hi Steinie,

My shut-down button seems to be visible in the default view but I have a pretty high screen resolution (1600 x 1200).

I'm guessing here but perhaps a lower screen resolution causes the shutdown button to be below the bottom of the window. What resolution are you operating at?

1. It is your resolution causing the icon to be hidden-drag the top of the LE toolbar up or move the icon, Oh, and this is the right way to shut TS down as the X only closes a particular window.

2. Animation is the main part of the 7.1 upgrade but I believe player tools should be updated also...

3. Because we are helpful.......;)

4. I am about to ask Roman if he will consider including the larger toolbar in next version-even as an upgrade. I agree highlights could be better though...

As for question 1 try 1280x1024 if you can or rearrange important icons within your UI..

Hope these help your rant a bit........:D

Yeah, sucks having a 17", doesn't it? can't wait til I get my 19". You can copy or move that button onto another toolbar if you want. That's what I had to do for my Full layout, as for some reason it wasn't even in there at all [not even hidden].

Actually, it's a very good idea to put a sticky thread up somewhere with the common Q&A/FAQs/Bug workarounds. It's so obvious that I wish I'd though of it first. The trick will be to make it obvious enough for most people to look at before posting a repeat question.

I much prefer 'that row of icons' to be small - they were made that way to fit on the window title bar (tS6.6 had something similar too) - so if there are plans to make them larger it had better be an option or I'll start a rant asking them to be put straight back as they were.

hi Steinie..you can also shut down with file/exit..in modeler

they dont really consider the visually impaired .I should know...but with nice guys like Splinters around..things happen..Bobbins maybe a hawkeye..I remember when I couldn't believe people couldn't see like I did [ it wasn't that long ago].....I talked to Roman about greyed out icons..what is called desaturation, possibly being an option..I would prefer the orange around icons like in ts6.6. myself...some icons like the render options I can't tell whats on or off.....never mind the small ones..

19" monitors still hide icons..at 1024 x 768..

Stan, 1280x1024 seems to be minimum resolution for full default display.

As for improvements to UI for those who do not have 20/20 vision, I am looking into it but I only do occasional work on Caligari's behalf; Roman gets the last say on most , if not all, TS matters...;)

I think another easy option is to just minimize the toolbar above the one with the exit truespace button. That should move the toolbar below it up to where the X is visible.

If I had lots of money I'd buy everyone 2 monitors; 1 Dell 24" 1920x1200 and 1 Dell 21" 1600x1200

Put all your tools on the 21" and the workspace on the 24"

I've got a few thousand more scratch tickets here to do that fell off a truck, so a good chance I'll have the money soon...

My coworker got a beautiful 21" monitor last year and promptly went and set the resolution to some ridiculous low setting. He was just so happy he had a cool flat screen. I wanted to cry at the waste of pixels. I had to show him that in windows you can keep your resolution high and set fonts in various places in the UI to higher point. Instead I should have just swapped monitors in the middle of the night.
