Hi Everyone.
I have been very inactive on this list and on 3D in general for the past year or so because I have been working hard on getting a job in another part of the country. Currently we live in New England but finally have our chance to go somewhere more us-friendly:
We will be moving to the Virginia Beach, VA area in a few weeks, and I plan to start spending more of my free time on Truespace. FINALLY. I can have my life back.
No offense to anyone living in the New England area, mind you; it's just not our cup of ... tea.

Welcome back Frootee. It's always nice when a lost sheep returns to the fold! 2.5 years is a long time! I can't imagine going 2.5 days with doing some trueSpacing! |

thanks wizard. I have posted here and there, and done some animation, etc. but nothing really significant. Once we get settled (~6 weeks) I can start playing again!

Arighty Then! Made it to Virginia... Alive... Now I can start truespacing again. FINALLY!
Here's the rant though:
Cleaned the old joint til 3 AM, then til 6 pm the following night.
The following day, drove for 13 hours ( instead of the 9.5 hours according to Crapquest I mean Mapquest) due to rush hour traffic in NYC and NJ (yeah I know I should've read the directions before leaving.. a stupid guy thing I guess)
Got to VA at 2:30 AM, went to bed at 3 AM, got up at 7 AM,
got caffeinated to meet the truck driver with our stuff, turned on the cell phone, and had a message from trucker, who supposedly had engine trouble and he'd be there early afternoon (I bet he overslept...)
Got half of the stuff unpacked, minus my clothes, shoes, and coffee, and ready to show up for work!
2nd day on the job: came home to return the rental car, and my car gets f***n towed, right in front of the driveway of my house. Due to lack of sleep and disorientation, I did not notice the FIRE LANE NO PARKING sign right where I parked. So I had to pay $125 cash just to get my car back. It was only there for 15 minutes! Welcome to Virginia Beach!
Oh yeah, when I cancelled my comcast account up North I was told I would still have access to my emails for 30 days. Guess what? They got blown away as soon as I cancelled. Now THAT'S what I call customer service!
So what does all this have to do with truespace? Hopefully now my life can slow down a bit so I can have some free time, as long as I park my car in the right place. I am looking forward to contributing support on the forums and scripting, and modelling/animation of course.
And, if you're having a bad day, hopefully this'll help you feel better and laugh at my own personal little tragedies. :rolleyes: |

Moving house is one of the most stressful things that can happen during your lifetime - it's an event up there with marriage, family berevement, having a baby and so on. It can really mess with your yoga, ya know? And of course it's when we are feeling all unsettled by such events that we do things like park where we're gonna get towed.
Seems to me you are handling all the stress with great style and cool. I'd be using far more than three asterix's if my car got towed and I'm not planning on moving anywhere! As for losing my emails.... well best we just don't even go there! ;)
Anyway, all the best for you and yours at your new address and I look forward to seeing you round the forii. |

Thanks Wizard. It's good to be back. We have one computer up; hopefully I can bring the other online today. Then I can focus on truespace! :banana:
