Was sitting around rendering my calculator for speed model challenge #10 when I discovered some odd artifacts... fortunately they were not located on screen but in the terrarium next to me.
Looks like my giant day gecko decided to leave a few eggs. May have to model one of these little buggers someday for a rendering.

Yes, there is indeed a gecko in the pic, by the way.
Anyway, this kinda put a bright spot on the day. Kinda needed it.
Remember seeing one done in Ray Dream Studio many many years back entitled Blue Tailed Bezier Gecko. Was even done before the Geico Gecko came on the scene.
Inspiration is where you find it I guess. Think I'm going to try and do something scene-wise with some pics I took. Gecko peeking out around corner is too dim in photo but with right kind of lighting and a few adjustments it should make for an interesting scene. Framing's gotta be different though.
Placed it in rants and raves because it's a "one-off" topic. More of an interesting note for the day but something to fill my head with ideas nevertheless.
Later all!

:) Congratulations Professor! That's a cheerful post indeed. Hope the contents of these eggs will 'live long and prosper', and that they will make it into cheerful gecko-models of course, ... like their mother who is just peeking around the corner.
Perhaps you can be tempted to create a scene inspired by one of our most loved national graphic artists, M.C. Escher? |

Alas, this is her first batch ever (she's still quite young) so they're likely sterile.
Might be interesting to add a charcoal effect in photoshop to a rendered image for a Escher-like quality. :) |

Chuckle! Actually I used to charge for my advice when I was a counsellor. Actually 'advice' is interesting stuff. Someone once said that advice is what you give to someone else when you want to see whats going to happen next! I like that!
I also once had a girlfriend who used to say, "Here, take my advice, I'm not using it" - Interesting how often that's the case.
Re the "StarMoon Studio" thing. This is a name I've used for a long time in association with my music though I've never done anything commercial with it. (I also used the catchphrase 'Homegroan music' :D).
Of course anyone wishing to offer me payment for my advice is encouraged to PM me ASAP!!!:D
Glad you like my new sig!
Professor - I don't mean to hijack your thread - it's just that Lizard rhymes so well with Wizard!!! |
