You may remember me as "rondo" in the old forum .... well ... I tried my luck at a small skateboard/snowboard retail business. Economy in the US is in termoil. Especially in Michigan where business revolves around the Car companies.

So the shop is closing at the end of the month, and I am back in my old graphic design job. Getting re-aquainted with new programs and such. I've done some 3d work for a dvd that we did .. turned out cool.

I've been playing with Google Sketchup and I like it. For fast stuff it's cool, but no where near what I would feel comfortable doing anything complex with. And rendering leaves much to be desired.

I tried Blender, thinking that I'd learn something a little more industry-backed in case I got a job doing 3d, but man ... people complain about the TS interface?!?!? I just can't get into Blender. So I'm sticking with TS.

So hopefully I'll be back to playing in 6.6 soon ... I'm getting the itch to start modelling something ... just gotta get some ideas.

Welcome back to the warm embrace of tS. (Blenders UI made my brain hurt worse than ts7.5s!)

Rondo! Welcome back!!! Still remember your March '03 winning animation and the lightsaber challenge from back then! I think you'll enjoy the speed modelling challenges they're having around here these days.

cool guys ... thanks for the warm re-welcome .... at least I tried the business. I think it would have worked out better if the economy were good. Bad economic times are hard on small businesses. Especially those that are still young. I still have a long crappy battle with legal/financial stuff because of the failed business - but at least I have my old job. Lucky for that. A lot of people are out of work here in Michigan.

Anyway ... to happier fields .... anyone know where I can get the 6.6 update? I can't seem to remember how to get it.

I'm trying to catch up on everything that's happened here in the last couple years .... anyone want to give me a quick synopsis? ;)

Hi welcome back - I don't recall you from before - we must have just missed each other. Sorry your business thing didn't work out - or did it? After all you are back here and the problem with the rat race is that even if you succeed and win your still a rat! ;)

I look forward to getting to know you.
