Well, looks like I get to post the first freebie for 7.5...:)
Here is my customised tS6.7 layout (as in tS 6 to 7), for those who want power of workspace but the familiarity of tS6.6.
Just copy the layout into yout RSmainlibraries>Layouts folder and it will appear as a tab in tS7.5 when you open tS.
Please do not try this in 7.11 as I have no idea how it will work.
This is also an experiment as I have not exported a layout from retail 7.5 yet so please use at your own risk but it was just made from a fresh install so no weird settings. Still some scope for tweaking here as well.
I made main window use wireframe and made wire colour grey with selected wireframe white..
Enjoy. |

It would seem that the top right toolbar seems to reset on some computers. That, and the bottom right toolbar seems to hide itself behind the left hand toolbar.
Oh well, there is the screengrab if you want to recreate it...might be fun learning. Would be interesting to see how many PC's accept this layout as it is in the screengrab. |

Left click top left icon next to trueSpace7.5 and select Save Layout and then navigate to your RS Main Libraries/Layouts - Cofigurations folder. |

You can also right click empty space within any library and select "Insert as" "Layout" (and load from that library). :) |

More free stuff for ts7.5
ZoomPlus adds a fast zoom to the standard trueSpace navigation.
middlemouse drag + ctrl + shift
Maya Navigation provides the following behaviors.
alt + left mouse is rotate
alt + middle mouse is pan
alt + right mouse for zoom
Both enhancements only work in the perspective view.

Drag them into the link editor and push the load button.
or
Drag them into a library and then drag from the library into the link editor and push the button.

Thanks Clinton, it is working great on my system. Makes transitions to and from TS less painful.

I find a problem..
Ok.. you create or load the Splinters Layout... Ok..
Here i find 2 Problems..
1) if you delet any icon.. how you bring again to the workspace??
And 2) if the answer is "Reset to default Context" you bring again, but now try to click on any layer.. you will find are many many duplicated icons again not contained on the saved layer.. |

On the right of a toolbar is a little triangle where you can choose 1D or 2D or reset to get the full toolbar back...:) |

True collaboration here folks. I made an avatar head with Genhead, detached the eyes and gave it to Dave Egan (trueblue) who wrote a script that makes the eyes follow you. I then followed Heidi's tutorial for making a scalp and beard hairpiece which you can edit independently.
So make sure you are in workspace with no extra windows. When you load the scene a second workspace window opens. Click on my head in that second window then use the view widget (bottom right of screen to look around my head....my eyes will always look at you.
Sorry you have to look at my face to do this but you could use this as the basis for your own...:D |

Ok, when you have messed with this a bit you have ready made hair to play with. As well as the head and eyes there is a scalp hairpiece under the head and another on the beard area. Click on one then choose the Panels tab from the top of the stack. Now you can just mess with the sliders for length, curliness etc. or even the hair colour and materials.
Will set you up until you make your own experiments...:D |

Yes, well done Bugigy...;)
BUT, your bugs will most likely be overlooked if they are in a thread called 'Free stuff' unless you are giving them away. Likewise, the free stuff will get pushed down the thread and be 'lost' in a sea of bug finds.
Best start a thread for 7.5 bugs so they can be viewed all in one place by Dev's...:o
I don't want to sound harsh Prodigy but we are putting out stuff here in this thread for new users to have a play around with..no need to put bugs you find in too. |

As was in tS7.11 and is same in tS7.5 there is extra details that you must perform to save customized Widgets and Toolbars permanently. Even so there is only one Workspace toolbar that hides when you switch to Model. trueSpace7 users do not have access to the code that hides this one toolbar nor a way to implement this for a custom toolbar. At least I know of no solution. Would be great if somebody could share this information if it is at all possible. |
