Hi

I have TS 5.2 My problem is that whenever I render any type of animation ( very simple animations..) the quality is horrible. I don't know how to describe it it just looks horrible. I've tried adjusting all the basic render options that come up when I select " render file to disc.." like frames per second... turned blur off.. I've even tried full frames uncompressed option. I think there must be some other options on the interface that I don't have selected..

Of course, I've also tried using a bunch of frames for a small scene to using less frames for the same scene.. point being: I've really tried all the things I can think of

I know it is possible to have high quality animations using TS 5.2

ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

If you have 5.2, why not register for the forum? I believe anyone who has a legitimate copy of tS5 or higher is eligible to do so.

The way you described the problem I assume that the video output looks different than a screen render. The quality of a video depends on the codec and it's adjustments. Best is to use uncompressed video or image sequences. It is then an easy thing to compress it with an editor without having to rerender everything. If you don't have any software to process videos, Virtual Dub is an excellent freeware tool for converting and editing video files.

My first suggestion was gonna be to render without compression, but you mention that you've tried that.

Be sure you aren't in Draft render mode; Change it to adaptive anti-aliasing or higher.

In the render to file dialogue, find the 'Effects' section in the bottom right and make sure "Field Rendering" is set to none. It's set to 'Odd-Even' by default so you'll need to turn it off unless you are rendering for TV work.
