Question about my workflow in 7.5 workspace // Visitor Area

Hello, I so love 7.5. I have a quick question about workflow in workspace. I only work in workspace because it is what the future of 3d is all about ... realtime display rendering!. I dont like the 4 view in workspace. I only work in workspace default main view. For me I like setting my hotkeys

to TOP=t LEFT=l PERSPECTIVE=p etc. So in the main full view I can quickly change my views just by pressing my hotkeys. My question is .. I always like to work in the camera view (as I am always keyframing my camera movements) however, everytime I go to top view or left view or perspective view etc then I want to go back to my camera view I have to manually click on and select the camera then click on the SET CAMERA icon (which I also have setup as a hotkey). Is there anyway for me to get back to my CAMERA VIEW without having to select my camera then click on SET CAMERA? Plus, I wish I could enlarge my camera that is in the scene so I could find it easier. But can not figure out how to do that. Scale does not work on the actual camera. Thanks for any info.

You can scale the camera in the Model tab, but idk about the WS tab... The only thing I can suggest is if you're losing your camera, your scene must be big, so try scaling it down rather scaling up your camera.

Perhaps if you open a Link Editor window. I like to have at least one LE open somewhere. I can dock it into existing interface if I want or let it float. Mostly I keep an LE small (I always have more than one LE open) and adjust it so it is showing the camera object or the light or the object I need quick access to. Being able to select an object in the Link Editor, in a hurry, is important to my workflow. Where you can locate objects in the link editor without disturbing your scene is good feature. You can line up important items in same general area and access them easily in LE.

If you want to scale your camera, right click it's Matrix and select Expand and then change the Sx, Sy, Sz values as shown in screen capture.

I made a button for you that will select a Camera named Camera and then set it as the view. Note that your Camera will have to be named Camera or you will have to change the command to whatever you want to name your Camera. Insert this button into the Link Editor and then Ctrl + Drag it to a toolbar. Ctrl + right click to set it as a Hotkey. You can then Ctrl + Drag it out of the toolbar and close it from the X button.
Note the D3D View has to be active in order for this to work as with other view commands do.

You can do this in Modeler, with the FindCamera (http://ckgamefactory.hp.infoseek.co.jp/zip/FindCamera_ts4.zip) plugin.

One of the Modeler-only features that forces me to work in Modeler, BTW :(

I believe for Workspace (which I will assume you are referring to), the devs will add something.
It is also important to note that many of these items can be scripted in Link/Script editors. Once a script object has been loaded, it can be "detached" to have it pop up in panels area of stack, where I like to control-drag it off the stack and into my custom window.

Your welcome! I added the possibility to use up to five cameras from within this toolbar here:

I have just now discovered that when the Workspace Camera is selected, Left Mouse Button select the Camera's legs activates View from Camera.

Nice touch Caligari :)
