Ok decided to do something silly. This is a music box my 4mnth old got for Christmas. Looked like it would be fun to model. |

Wow, nice work. I find myself doing the same thing. I walk around the house looking for something to model (that won't be too hard for me is KEY) :D |

animate...hmm..the problem is the screen is on a wheel and it rotates. The other problem is the screen is rippled and makes the animals appear to "wiggle" about. Oh Leif..love the signature! |

I had one of those when I was a small lad. Endless fun listening to the simple music and watching the animals parade by. |

I can think of ways to animate it in Flash
the box would need to be pretty much square on though
Anyway.. you'd do the model with a hole where the moving image goes.. animate the knot turning in TS .. in 10 degree steps
then you need a long image that will loop and do a bit of flash keyframing to drag the picture through
Then you make a false png screen with a alpha channel, with dark edges to cover the moving image
OR you could do it in TS, have the box laid flat on the table, and wrap a wide image round a cylinder, and cut the back out of the box .. it would take some messing about but if the cylinder is wide enough it should look fairly flat through the screen |
