Not much to see yet, but I thought I'd throw my hat in the ring here at the last second and post what I have done so far.

Entered a manic modeling/texturing/lighting phase.
Here it is after a Mongolian Beef powered frenzy.

Well this symbolism either means " stricken by Mother's absence, her grip no longer a crutch and a burden lifted from his soul "
or
"I got a bag of money, a huge fork, and an empty stomach...so who's up for Mickey D's?"
I like the lighting too. |

"Treasure (chest) your death, we all end up as fertilizer"?

Nice work. I am still pondering what it all means. But then again that's the intent of the challenge :D |

Here is a wireframe screenie.
Ground was created using the 'Landscape Generator' script from the 'Objects- Script Objects' Library. 4 such objects were created and then aligned along the edges. They don't exactly match but the seams were placed so they weren't visible.
Ground tex is a multilayer conglomeration of various textures and normal maps.
Skydome tex was a photo I took one overcast spring day.
Lighting was the cluster of infinites as seen in the screencap (the sunset or sunrise preset-can't recall which now-, slightly tweaked) and one volumetric spotlight behind the head of the figure on the left.
Textured and rendered in Model/Lightworks.
Dali had a recurring motif based on the painting 'Angelus' by Millet; this is just a 3D interpretation of the same painting using some of the signature Dali stylistic elements, such as the crutch, loaves of bread (always with a basket!) drawers, and the use of positive and negative space.
The only thing I wish I could have included was some sort of 'dual image'.
