The spamming, originally noted by GSK and reported to the official forums was the first time that serious spam had been encountered on the wiki site.

It is common for such sites with the capability to generate links to be attacked by automated programs designed to create link-backs to malicious websites – the purpose of which is to fool search engines in to thinking that the spamming site has a greater importance and drives greater traffic to it.

Although GSK removed the majority of the offending material, Chrispeg chose to delete the wiki.activewords.com domain from the servers until Martin had a chance to implement a better user signup and authentication system.

At the time of writing 1 day later, the wiki site was still disabled.
