How To Register Your Events
Registering Your Events
Registering your events is easy, all you need to do is register your Activeworlds citizenship on Awportals.com, log in, and go to the event pages.
On the left, you'll find a menu item saying "Register for Event". The Information You Need
Here's the information that you'll need when registering your event:
Essential Information 1. An event name, this will be shown on the site and included in promotional material. If you're running a regular event, do try to use unique names to help you sort them, even if it's attaching a date such as "CitBingo - May 4" 2. The start and ending times in VRT, once published your event will be promoted until its end time has passed. 3. The world name and coordinates. Please use the straight text coordinates rather than a teleport link etc, as the site will convert it to a set of teleport coordinates. Optional Information 1. A text description of the event. It can be as long as you like, but the the first paragraph of which will be used as a summary on listings and promotional images. 2. An image (256x256 JPG) that will be used beside the event information on the calendar, as well as included on promotional images. Selecting a Status Your event will be created in a "draft" mode, where it will only appear to you and administrators, and will only appear to a larger audience when you set it to "published". Cancelled events can be set to cancelled, and will still appear on the list, but with a notice attached. Benefits
As part of you registering your event, your event will be:
 Included on the AWPortals Events Calendar Given an event page including all of your event details, a going-list, and more. Given a custom event poster suitable for linking in world using "create picture" Included on rotating banners located throughout popular locations in-world. Included in a weekly email sent to all awportals subscribers Included in promotional entry message for all citizens visiting popular locations 8 hours prior to the event start. Given public countdown announcements (including teleport links) at popular world locations in the 2 hours leading up to its start. Repeat Events
If you host an event that repeats weekly or monthly, and the details mostly remain the same except for the time, please contact Strike Rapier via telegrams and I will be able to offer to clone your event for a series of weeks / months so that you don't need to re-enter it each week.
