Just noticed this only happens when i press the 'dynamic pose' button, when i deselect it the 'fallen shoulders' reappear. Still don't know why though.

Check the weight paint and make sure all the vertices you want to move are selected and no stray vertices outside the area are not selected.

If you are using 7.51 that is, but can do in tS66 as I recall

it was after i used weight paint this happend. i rebuilt the skeleton and it went away but i'd still like to know what caused it.

I tried adding and subtracting weights with the brush but very time the same result

Good question and you'll probably never know what caused it to happen. :D

My guess is that a few vertices for the shoulder got attached to the chest while weight painting and caused the stretched polygons.

I've seen this in other programs too. Only takes on or two stray verts to mess up a skinned object.

Might have happened when you set rotation on the shoulder and it was too far out of normal range. Then when you set pose as default, tS became confused and tried to adjust to the out of range data for the rotation.

Okay, I'm arm flailing here and have no clue what may have happened.

But glad you got if fixed. :)

It may have been that you clicked twice when creating one of the joints in the skeleton and had two joints very close together which were throwing off the skinning solution.
