Hey guys,

I finally got a chance to do more work on this and I'm pretty happy with it so I'm going to call it done. This is a 7.1 real-time render with no post at all. I had tried adding a few more scattered objects but I liked it better like this (plus this scene was starting to crawl). After trying a few different designs on the doors I think that I finally found one that fits pretty well.

I attempted to get some real-time fake dof, but it didn't come out quite as good as I'd hoped so I put that aside for now. My first idea was to play with some shaders to try to achieve the dof effect, which I still think would be the best way. It's going to take some time though as I'll probably have to look into HLSL. A real-time fake dof shader would be cool though.

All in all I pretty much accomplished what I wanted with this scene. I really wanted to see how far I could take the player view and get more familiar with the dx materials and player lighting in the process. Now I may have to revisit this when I get Vray. :)

Thanks for all of your suggestions and feedback guys. :)

Yep, looks real time to me! Why? Because the shadows are like all real time is, horrible. Decent real-time(game renders) are 2 full gens away to get up to today's rendering equal.

BTW you forgot to have your fan cast it's shadow. I always hate that!

Steve: Thanks. I also appreciated all of your suggestions. :)

chrono: Nope, didn't forget...I turned them off on purpose. As I understand it, soft shadows will be possible with DX10 when that comes out as well as some other goodies (which will indeed be nice). It will be a while yet before Real-Time catches "completely" up with current rendering, but I think they are making good progress. The player view is still a great improvement. It can't yet be compared to a Vray render as far as realism goes, but I personally still enjoy the style myself.

Me too trueBlue, me too :D

Great job Délé espacially that creating of nearly realistic indoor scenes without texture baking is not easy. Well done!
