MadMouse..it took just under 12 hrs to render..the resolution was 1016x700 [a bit smaller than my screen]..;) .I've never tried rendering larger than the screen, like many of you guys seem to do..
Shike..sure that itch isn't from a certain tribeastie..:D
Thanks alot guys..:)

Maybe I should check if he has fleas ;)
I did start a project several years ago...wanted to make a nice pic with a flower in a glass. Did squash a couple of flowers in the scanner...but couldn't make the glass good enough. I doubt that I made any backup of that project though.. :D |

Shike..found a site today with some vray info....
Great tip, have to check it out ! :)
Then I only have one problem left to solve.... I need another computer to work/play on while VRay is doing these heavy calculations... I can't be without my computer for 12 hours... :D |

Shike..simple shapes don't take very long to render..the main bottle has an interesting inner and outer shape ..many angles, causing the long renders..even a slight change in view angle can speed up or slow down the render..the angle of one object in relation to the others as well, which creates more or less reflections..
the bottles on each side render very fast..so depending on your flower vase's shape it might be quite fast..:D |

Hi,hi, but since I can't find the old project I was thinking about a glass TriBeast :D
Although...even simple shapes with only 30min-1h rendertime might be bad for my health, because when VRay starts "worming" around the screen I tend to sit and stare like I was hypnotized :D |

Couldn't help myself...have just been sitting for 30 minutes...watching ol'monty. Caustics is fun :D
BTW, did you get Caustics to work with HDRI ? ( I see a sharp non-hdri shadow in you render)
With HDRI I didn't see any c-pattern and tried both transparant- and Adv.transp- shadows...no luck. Spotlight worked perfectly though. :)
Not sure that HDRI-caustics would be useful....the render times would probably be horrible ;)
I guess the best way (if possible) would be to render caustics with simple light and save the c-map, and then render with hdri to get the nice shadows? |

Shike..I have a plain light and transparent shadows on..I haven't tried hdri alone with caustics..not even sure it would work.. and no enviro. shadows on the hdri.. |
