Haudihou neighbours!
Just finished a 24h run on a model that I just had to try out. I wanted to try and learn NURBS modelling combined with free curves etc. So I scetched this car on the paper and started to shape it. I thought of a racecar that Mr. Incredible would have in his garage (lol) and this is what I came up with:

Bigger version: http://www.loadusfx.net/racer_1280.jpg
It can't take ultra deep close-ups, but it renders out nicely regardless. This was supposed to be more cartoonish, but as usual I got carried away with texturing (bad influence from watching MadMouse working :D) and the racer got a little too much detail to be a "pure" cartoon car. Aanyhoo, I'll try to render out more angles of it if someone likes to see more of it - it just takes forever to render out :( ...
Modelling done in tS6 and tS7.11 - rendering in tS7.11 using LW with HDRI. |

Wow!:) Cool Too!
But, back fenders seem odd and have different bends. I love the color scheme of the whole render.
P.S. I checked out your site and is "Newborn Wings" a take off of the TrueSpace 7 logo or did they use your work? Just curious because I never saw them give anyone credit for it. Nice work at your other site too.
You should put your "The Argument" in my thread here about the Christmas Spirit... |

I thought I had those backlights fixed, but I guess tS7 found a older model somewhere and used that instead. :D
I could render this as a toycar since the details are not that massive ... hmmm... |

The bottom image.......to the left of the wheel.....whats hapened there:confused: or is it just the angle you have rendered it at that has made it look weird? |

The shininess sucks up all the shadows so you really can't see the shape. Sorry about that. + I have to be more careful next time when modelling with NURBS, I got a few "accidents" on the body ... |

Loadus: looks cool, though with that brand of tyres I was expecting it to have Utah plates instead of California. ;) |

Thanks again for the comments!
@Alien:
Latter-Day Saints Racing? And Yello sings "Oh Yeaaah..." - Maybe I stole them and sold the car to California. Now I'm hunted by angry religious group that want their tyres back for the next drag racing event. ftw. :D |

Fantastic car by the way. My only complaint is that I would like to see a little more weight in the tires. It seems like such a menacing car that I would like the see the tires sag just a little at the bottom the way the suspension seems to. Yes I know it's cartoonish, but that would make it just growl!

True. Especially on the rear tyres - the weight would be obviously pushing the wheels to the ground. Only problem is ... I don't know how to do that. :D
I just barely got thru this modelling without a fatal or permanent injury. |

The deform tool might work. |

The deform tool might work.
Or by using a stand alone deform object. That way the deform object could stay still and the tire would distort as it moves through it if you choose to animate it. |
