Here is a little illustration work created in less than 2 days with trueSpace7.5 and Artweaver. Artweaver (http://www.artweaver.de/index.php?id=59,141,0,0,1,0) is a Photoshop-like free software. Its UI is brushes-oriented and I like it for natural painting of textures.

Here is the link to final picture. (http://emmanuel.asset.free.fr/pics/octave.jpg)

Below are screenshots of the different stages.

Note that I am working in Modeler with the help of a Player/Workspace window to show the lightening changes in real-time. Bridge must be set to ON at this step.

trueSpace offers a very efficient workflow.

The part that was very time consuming was lightening : try some settings, render it, try some other, render again, etc... With Player/Workspace, we can now do all this in real-time : change the lights colors, intensity, location in Modeler and see how it affects the final result in a Player/Workspace window !

Of course, Player/Workspace is not exactly a Lightworks rendering but it is very close to, and with some practice we can guess the rest.

Nice work - love to see a closer view of the little guy in the boat. You description of how 7.5 helps your work flow makes good sense.

i've always found the same thing, you fly through the modeling part, get the texture done then spend eons tweeking the lighting. hoping to see what you mean about the player/ workspace thing when 7.5 ships

Emmanuel,

I like your style. Your work always looks great. Is this for a Children's Book?

Really nice I must say.

I'm a bit confused though, you say your still modelling in the Modeller?

I thought this had now been moved over or?...

Workspace/Player now offers a very generous set of tools. It allows to create, paint, animate and render a model from scratch :)

But I can't reproduce my Modeler's workflow in Workspace yet. You know how old modelers are : old habits ;)
To tell the truth, I even had to send my scene to trueSpace 6.6 to do the UV projection work : Modeler's UV projection is somehow broken since tS7.0 and was not fixed yet on the Beta version I used for this render.
The good news is that they will not release tS7.5 before this one get fixed though :)

In other words, tS6.6 aficionados like me will find in tS7.5 their efficient workflow, enhanced by the power of Workspace's real-time engine and set of tools, the truePlay format export, the collaboration feature, etc... !

Thanks Emmanuel

I'm a Ts 6 lover as well and hopes by this reliese to move over once and for all.

A different workflow or having to learn how to with new tools etc. that's ok.

That just sounds great, can't wait to print all the manuals ;)

Thanks

Ambrose...

Would be cool to see this one as a series for a kids book.
