Not sure what you are getting at here...
Tools at hand? All I see is some sort of material editor, compact to the point of being basic, versatile...?? Customizable...because it has a tick box that says 'customize'?
If this is a suggestion for the way the tS interface should look then I am not sure how this is an improvement. If it is simply your musings on how you like to work...then fine; each to their own...:)
Maybe if you pointed out the parts of the tS7 UI you think need improvement or doctored the existing UI we would have the basis for a better discussion. |

Not having a copy of tS7 to evaluate, I wouldn't know what to suggest for that version.
This is an Interface for what comes after the modeling; the UV, the Painting; the application of Materials and etc.
I'll comment more later, helping my daughter and son-in-law move into a 3 story house, ugh... |

Both those aspects (UV and ME) are addressed in 7.5 jamesmc, maybe they will be more like you want... |

Honestly, it looks terribly confusing, cluttered and non uniform. I'd have no idea what to do here. |

agree with the others.
btw. the color panel is huge.
I already posted in the beta forum a request if not a instant color picker like the one from Blender can be built in.

It has all the necessary features but small and don't stay at top all the time. Very good. |

Wow, you guys are harsh.
Didn't mean to be harsh, but my impression when I saw it was....disturbing. There's no clear structure, various design attempts, fonts etc. It would really scare me away from even trying this software. |

I think really you ought to put into words what you are trying to suggest here, as the image just looks like a butchered TS6.6 interface with other weird stuff drawn in, and strange things that would only serve use in a package such as Photoshop such as being able to select shadow angle, which is useless as you simply would use a light lol, and whats with the paint brushes? what could you possibly need a paintbrush for in a 3D modeling package?
But I could be barking up the wrong tree here, just tell us what you are trying to say |

When we brainstorm in design lessons we tend to use mindmaps either on computer or a whiteboard. Brainstorming involves throwing ideas in and not being critical until you have a board full of ideas-no one should be ridiculed for an idea no matter how silly it might seem. A set time to close it up is also a good idea-then you go in and take out the interesting/relevant stuff.
So yes, I understand brainstorming very well and there are different way of doing it but posting an initial mockup without such varied input and a framework of ideas and then asking for feedback is not brainstorming as such.
It never helps your discussion to insult the intelligence of those you are trying to captivate with your ideas...:o |

I was going to do the whole thing in flash as I suspected there might be more questions. With rollovers, flyouts and etc.
This was a preliminary design with non standard colors, brainstorming if you will. But I guess no one in this forum is familiar with brainstorming or cares to be involved in it.
So, I'll let it die on the vine. It was a s u g g e s t i o n not carved in stone.
Wow, you seem to start a lot of things and get easily offended and stop them again, where is your drive!? if you have an idea then tell us! if you dont then just admit that your just messing about.
Would love to be involved in brainstorming (Thought Shower for political correctness) but in all fairness you didnt really give us much to bounce off lol, that butchered UI is the most confusing and usless looking thing ever, so instead of spending time splicing screenshots from truespace with poorly drawn photoshop elements, just write down some ideas.
Furthermore what you on about it not being carved in stone? metaphorically that is exactly what you have done, you drew together a darn picture to explain some idea its hardly a suggestion just a screenshot of an Interface you would "like to work in" |
