Hi,

We need to add a protection system to our scenes or objects.

Why? to prevent scene imports.

If i send a scene to a customer but i dont want to him get the mesh and change only buying truespace.. (Sorry caligari Sales ;) )

But realy, i find this protection very usesfull if you want to share your work with others.. Sometimes you want set for free but sometimes not..

With a password you and ONLY YOU can edit or import your scene.. or if you want set for free, simply not add the password..

Without a password you only can view the scene... Like trueplace scenes :)

I think its posible and totally needed..

Might also be true with some scripting bricks. I know shaderlab 2.4 used to allow you to create a binary file non-editable shader script which could be used but not viewed or modified by others.

I'm very much in favor of open source items but I also see a reasonable need to provide protection of some features. After all, if you're creating a company or service on the basis that you can do unique things that others cannot, would you want to let the "magic out of the box"?
