I just finished this picture. It was a test on modeling and texturing. I recently bought the UV headus unwrapper and it is a dream to work with. I hope you like my little character.

Very nice image - tells a good story, right in the middle too, so it makes you want to see it animated so you can find out what happens next :)

Thanks for the nice comments, guys! Texturing was always a bit haphazard for me but now I have complete control over the textures. There are some projects I wanted to do but postponed because I knew I would run into texturing problems. Having tried several of the UV programs I decided on headus. Especially for organic models it is great. It is not cheap but it is extremely easy to use and fast.

Some of this guy's wrinkles are mine (I have more:D )

Great model and texturing Georg. Coincidently, I have been downloading some of the Headus UV layout video tutorials of late and must admit it looks quite impressive. Do you mind if I ask you which version you bought? I was mainly wondering about the different levels of support for SDS between the proffesional and hobbyist versions. Perhaps after you have used the software a bit more you could treat us all to a mini review.

I bought the hobbyist version, being a hobbyist after all :) A major advantage of the professional version is the symmetry tool but I have not missed it yet. You can always upgrade.

I export my models in the SDS version I want to texture them in, but Headus does not mind when there is still history in the models like mirror or lower SDS levels. I did find that when you have textured the model another level of SDS can change/shift the texturing considerably, this will depend on the model.

I make my textures in Photoshop and I am very pleased with the amount of control you have and the speed of unwrapping. The only thing you have to get used to with headus is that all the movements are keyboard based so you have to get a grip on the various keyboard combinations to move around.

I actually LIKE texturing now using Headus UV layout. I too bought the hobbyist version because I want no part of dongles. If your serious about 3D than I would strongly suggest checking this program out.
