I wonder whether you guys realized that you can download and replay new 3D recordings (tutorials) from our webiste either with truePlay or with TS7.1.

http://www.caligari.com/products/trueSpace/ts7/Brochure/record.asp?SubCate=S2record&Cate=ts7

Some of the recordings are real time interactions of authors with script based activities they built in LE or SE. If you load these in TS7.1 you can open link editor and learn from the author how they were created.

I would like to hear from you how did you like them and what other recordings would you like to see. For example the SDS recording of a dog teaches and awfull lot about what can be done with new SDS tools.

I just checked out a couple of the recordings. Cool! This has a potential to be a great resource. I hope the more experienced users keep making recordings.

Please somebody tell me how the Artist moves for different sides of the Modeling_Robot toward or outward the center. It looks like mirroring.

Do you hold shift key or any special key ?

This is achieved by scaling... not very convenient, we will add special tool for this (symmetry modeler)

I guess I'm kind of dense. Would someone please explain to me how these are supposed to be helpful as "tutorials". I see a short burst of animated activity with absolutely no explanation of what is being done within the program to cause that activity to happen. How does that help teach me to use the features of 7.1? Am I missing something here?

An excellent point!

It's also the key problems involved in video based tutorials. NO wasted talk, NO hunting for icons or commands, NO mistakes modeling, NO mistakes animating, NO mistakes texturing, and NO mistakes making textures either. This is why those video tutorials by Gnome are so costly

If the recording library is to actually work then it has to be easly understood by all and not half-way thought out on any item that the recordings involve. But I doubt that will happen because it's simply far too much work for a hobbyist to do.
