Geez you folks are crazy LOL
I think most of the "community spirit" a lot of you have is what comes out of your ass and gets flushed down the toilet. News Group - where news is discussed Community - where topics related to the community are discussed MrBruce's post are just as relevant as any of you other idiot's post. I see there are plenty of people who have been willing to step into Eep's and mgib's shoes in here. Paul [View Quote] Ok just my opinionFeb 13, 2003, 4:50am

Do you need nice Curtain objects that won't be invisible when viewed from
outside a Windows that has transparent glass panes because the curtains you have use transparency or mask themselves and the AW software is inadequate at rendering such combinations of objects? Then take a look at my New Curtain set in Ganymede. Paul New Wrought Iron FurnishingsJun 8, 2003, 11:23pm
Just a note to let those interested know that I have new Wrought Iron
furniture and furnishings for sale in Ganymede. There is a teleport to the area at GZ. Also is a new early american old style water pump with animation. Have a nice day, Paul LETS GET THIS STRAIGHT RIGHT NOW!!!!!Aug 17, 2003, 3:46pm
MrBruce,
I'm not quite sure I'm following this, But if the gist of this is that you are selling/leasing access of your object path to other world owners to use (speaking for myself, but I think most other modelers you may have purchased from would feel the same) and you are also providing your object password to those world owners you are selling/leasing the OP to, then you would be violating the terms of my models agreements. I allow purchasers to use the models they buy from me in all worlds they own in any universes but they are not allowed to give, sell. provide access to those models to anyone outside of those worlds without my consent. Now if you are selling/leasing your object path but NOT providing the password to non-public domain models (like mine) then that's fine. That would be like AWI used to do in AW. You could build with all models except their Z objects. So, if you are selling/leasing your OP to world owners along with the password to the non-public models then you need to stop now. I sold the models for use in your worlds not for use in other's worlds and you wold in essence be giving my models to others if that is the case. Hope this clears up this thread some. hello,
I have new Hobbit Hills for sale in Ganymede. They are not designed based on the movie but on my interpretation from reading the books and how I picture them. I f you use Terrain you can use you own "grass" and "path" in place of the 2 I made. They are one piece 50 x 50 meter models. Paul new modelsAug 19, 2003, 8:39pm
hi,
There are a couple of new models for sale in Ganymede. One is an old style pedal driven Singer Sewing machine for you ladies who like to sew :) Also, the once proprietary Fantasy Arch I made for Daphne is now available for purchase thanks to Daphne :) And there are the relatively new Hobbit Hills and the Star Cathedral. Thanks, Paul Ganymede Condemnation of AW CitizensAug 23, 2003, 8:47pm
Some of you folks are behaving like the idiots you are.
Daphne has done as much or more than a lot of you put together for AW and in many cases I know this 1st hand since I lend a hand or advice on occasion. And thats not to mention all the help she has given me. True she can be stubborn and opinionated at times, but as is obvious here, everyone has faults. As for Alex complaining about Daphne I still remember waiting about 6 months before I received the avvy 2001 Lifeforms prize for my Manta Av. And I know of at least one person who when she telegrams Alex with some question about some of his models or bots receives a response to email him about it. Too busy to answer questions in AW Alex? I think you all need to get a grip. Paul [View Quote] Condemnation of AW CitizensAug 23, 2003, 8:54pm

A note to users buying my models.
If you are thinking of uploading models you buy from me to a Shared or Rented object path, such as Heartfall Productions rented object path, don't do it. My terms of sale do NOT allow my objects and textures to be used on an object path shared by other worlds owners and doing so is a violation of copyright by you the purchaser (if you know that the path is shared) and the Object Path owners/operators. This came about when last night Lady Murasaki told me she saw some of her textures on http://www.heartfall.org/wcoltxgals/default.aspx where they had no right to be so I looked and sure enough I saw some of my non-public domain textures on there also. I don't know how they got there but I expect them to be removed and I have also filed a complaint along with screen shots of their web page showing my textures and proof of my development of those textures with AWI regarding Heartfall's violation of copyright and EULA and I believe at least one other person is filing a complaint also. Paul copyright violationOct 12, 2003, 2:23pm
I want to say that after talking to InSaNiTy he did remove the textures in
question from the WCOL OP and apparently were not known to be protected material. Paul [View Quote] copyright violationOct 12, 2003, 6:47pm
You all misinterpreted the complaint.
A purchaser of my model can use the models and textures in there world in any manner they choose, even to the extent of changing the textures on the models themselves. What the purchaser can not do is allow the models and textures to be shared by other worlds owners by (1) giving them the models or textures, (2) selling them the models or textures (without my permission), or (3) uploading to or allowing them to be uploaded to an Object Path that is shared by other world owners (without my permission). That is pretty clear and has always been my policy. If you don't agree with those terms then don't buy my models. Those Terms of User are more generous than that of many modelers around. Paul [View Quote] copyright violationOct 14, 2003, 9:27pm
yes Lady Nighthawk I did make those textures. I do use public domain
textures too and I would never think of claiming those as my own or where they can or can not show up. I'm only concerned about the textures I create. I simply want what is mine used the way the way I state in my Terms of Use which are clearly posted in Ganymede. Some modelers here don't even want you to open their rwx files, much less change them. Edit mine anyway you want as long as they are used only in your worlds. If the surface light settings or textures don't suit your taste on my models or if there is a Clump you would not like to be in the model then change it to suit you as long as you realize that the model is still mine and I'm allowing you to make any changes you like for your world's use. Just like you can modify the look of Windows to suite your own taste and add 3rd party windows tools to help you better use your system. Microsoft allows you to do this but your windows OS still belongs to Microsoft. How many modelers around here can you name that will allow you that flexibility? You want to use what you buy and I want what I sell to be protected by the people who buy it :) That's all. Paul [View Quote] Technozeus needs our help......!!!!Oct 28, 2003, 8:31am
Technozeus, I can only say that I think if I were in your situation that I
would try talking to the D.A. and Attorney General where you live and explain the situation and see what if any help they might can give you or advice and if you do local charity help then tell them that and that they can contact whomever you know locally who can vouch for your character and maybe they can tell you better how to proceed or maybe even intercede on your behalf ( like especially if you are a church member and could get your pastor/preacher/whatever to talk to your D.A. or Attorney General with you). Just a thought. Paul [View Quote] Something's not right!Nov 3, 2003, 1:41pm
If you are crashing a lot in your world you can try this to maybe help
restrict reloading. (1) reload everything in your world. (2) copy your world cache folder to another drive or backup folder Then if you crash delete your world cache folder and copy the good folder from the back up back into the AW cache. Then you won't have to reload unless the back up is older than the 10080 (1 week). if you don't make many changes to your OP (new models or textures) then you could set your world refresh to say 30080 instead of 10080 (approx 3 weeks) and the backup wold be good a little longer. Also try not to teleport in and out of your world or other worlds until the downloads are done and that may help reduce some crashes but not all. 3.4 is just too buggy and does crash a lot for no reason (related to anything in the OP, models, textures, etc. unless maybe it's odd sized textures). A lot of people go around downloading screen savers and Theme files and
some of these install ad ware/registry entries. A friend of mine on ICQ just went through this and started getting popup add every time she open IE no matter that the web sties she went to didn't have popup ads. Just the fact that she opened IE after installing the Windows Themes she had downloaded and installed put some ad ware on her systems and she had to unistall the themes (and guess what, the uninstaller didn't work so had to uninstall the stuff manually) and then run a Spybot S&D scan and AdAware scan to get rid of the ad garbage and registry entries. All that hassle for some pretty pictures. Paul [View Quote] New avatarNov 27, 2003, 10:37pm

Hi,
I just finished a new Hammond B3 organ and Leslie models for sale. They can be seen in Ganymede at GZ. Paul $6.95 Too Much?Jan 30, 2004, 2:14am
Actually you don't know what most people pay per month for anything. You
can only guess based on your own spending preferences and income level. I don't drink coffee and I haven't been to a movie in 15 or 20 years . I know of a number of people in here past and present that have a hard time justifying paying $70 a year for AW. Maybe it is worth that but that doesn't mean everyone can afford it any more than everyone can afford to get rich in the stock market while the poor get poorer. Just like I don't sell models to try and get rich, I need the additional income (1) to help pay for AW and (2) to help pay bills. There are others in AW in the same boat and some who have left who liked it here but just can't afford it and have gone to CNW or DLP. Paul [View Quote] $6.95 Too Much?Jan 31, 2004, 8:44am
If you do want another place to chat you can go to Belladora's new Galaxy
CASTLES. You can go in for free as a Tourist or if you want to be a cit there you can pay the 19.95/year. The number of people online varies a lot but she has over 100 members now and it's only been open a few months. At times you may not find anyone in there or you may find 3 or 8 or 10 or more. Most are all her old Castles friends from when she had her worlds Castles here in AW and you will find everyone there nice. You can download her browser at www.belladora.com . CY was one of the original AW avatars so any copyright to the word CY and
anything using that word would belong to AWI. Paul [View Quote] www.cyawards.com?Jan 31, 2004, 7:19pm
I think that if Wiz bought the domain with the word CY in it without AWI's
consent that he be violating AWI's copyright. Now they may not have cared or known that he was the one who bought that domain. But I think it would be the same type of situation if some one made a female avatar and called it CYrina or something. Would have to have permission from AWI to do that in my opinion. Paul [View Quote] T+LFeb 4, 2004, 6:14pm
I'm not sure I'm following this thread but here are my thought about sound
regarding AW and outside AW. First off I have a dual CPU motherboard. I have (2) Pentium III 650Mhz cpu's on my motherboard which is a Supermicro P6DGU. Multiple CPU's are more performance for application that are written to support SMP (Symmetrical Multiprocessing) with Windows 2000 and Windows XP OS's what support SMP. Windows ME and 98 do not support SMP and thus multiple CPU's. But when it comes to sound the problem is that Sound card manufacturers like Creative Labs and most all the rest have not and are not writing sound card drivers that support SMP motherboards and so sound cards tend to have problems on Windows 2000 and XP systems that have multiple CPU's. On top of that sound support in AW and gotten terrible since all versions after AW 3.0, at least for me. Sound in AW used to work fine in AW 2.2 and 3.0 And I think even in 3.1. But from 3.2 and above sound as been terrible and the wav and mp3 and even Midi file break up. Especially if you are doing something outside of AW. And I believe it stems from them switching to use the Direct 3D Sound interface. I'm not saying the problem is Direct 3D sound because the DXDiag sound test all pass on my system. But just like bugs in the rest of AW browser I don't think they have a handle on the sound programming either. Also, Microsoft's Windows Media Player is really lousy on Windows 2000 and XP systems and I have the same problems with sounds breaking up because they are apparently not devoting enough CPU thread overhead to the processes. That's why I use Real Player One because it plays mp3's much more reliably on my system. I don't like Real's policies about cookies and their background tracking programs but I have a firewall running and I have blocked access to their spyware files so they can't access the internet and send any unwanted information yet the Real Player still functions and all I get is one cookie which I can delete with AdSubtract Pro periodically. And I believe Windows Media Player puts a cookie in also. So as far as AW sounds I just leave them turned off. But I'm 52 now and don't care much for the sounds anyway. Guess I'm getting old. BTW updating to the newest sound card drivers does not help. I've tried that so many times (and actually made things worse) that I've totally given up on Creative Labs developing reliable drivers for Win 2k and XP. In fact I now count Creative Labs like ATI and Matrox. They are 3 companies whose products I won't buy any more for any systems that are going to run AW. Paul [View Quote] T+LFeb 5, 2004, 3:27am
You should not uncheck T&L though. It will cause your frame rate to drop
substantially and cause you a lot of lag in AW. Paul [View Quote] |
