*shrug* Fixing it would not be in their interests, after all, they're too busy implementing NT4 support for the 30 people that try

Ignore that, just realized that the only reason NT4 is getting supported is OGL *durh*

Been doin some thinking. What AW needs is an update= argument for the SOUNDS. This will allow psuedo streaming media when coupled
with MP3 support.
Since MP3s have a pretty constant filesize=>time ratio depending on the bitrate (128 bits= approximately 1mb per minute) a custom
piece of software (since I don't know of any software that can do this) could chunk it down to handleable sizes and lengths and set
the update= accordingly and upload them at the same interval as update=
Though it'd be a little chunky it'd be better than downloading the whole of somthing when you only want to hear certain parts, or
putting audio to out JPEG web feeds.
Also, it could be used with another software implementation to randomize sounds. Take for instance, a virtual battlefield. Guns
don't all sound the same. By uploading random sounds, you could produce random volleys of weaponry as background noises.

Bad idea, don't give tourists any more than they already have, though the ID would be nice.

Huh? All movements that have been configured are rendered if you have avatar animations enabled

Unlimited contact size is a bad thing, too many people will too many contacts would massacre the uniserver. A limit of 200 is just
fine, considering that there are only say 500 active citizens.

This is because you're moving backwards. I don't get which angle you're coming from, you want somthing for fast computers and then
you want to address a problem for only obscenely bad ones?

I personally think he's just illiterate. Some people can only understand one definition of the acronym "kb" and not understand that
caps have somthing to do with it. KB is kilobyte, since a byte is larger. Kb or kb is kilobit. The K and k difference is a bit more
difficult to notice in writing, but is still simple to catch. Also, according to Digicom Systems, the FCC limit is 53k, though I've
only ever seen a connection that fast once :)

It'd require a rewrite of all the cell databases, plus how the server handles them. This seems to be somthing that AWC wants to
avoid as long as possible, though making it more modular would allow installation of future features anyway.

Umm, D3d isn't the only API available in AW3.2, OGL is also being added. And Renderware already has facilities for rotation (see
rotate command, DUH), but you'd have to update EVERY SINGLE CELL DATABASE (one per world) to add somthing new to it.
Also, which "AW.Com programmer" did you speak to?

I wasn't added to beta either, and I have seven different CPU types to work with capable of speeds anywhere from 300 to 1333MHz,
around a half dozen 3d platforms and a good number of sound cards, along with every Windows OS except NT4. There are some blindingly
obvious bugs that this rather incompetant group of beta testers managed to miss that I picked up on the DAY the thing was released.

Eep is most definitely male. It completely boggles the mind that a female could possibly be so blunt, agressive, fearless and
warlike, not to mention intolerant in the face of people that openly dislike them.
Therefore, Eep simply MUST be male.
This is an example of a civilized, intelligent post to this newsgroup. It doesn't fit the mold in community, and yet is still
related to Activeworlds. Also, please notice that the post I replied to is relevant to my response, in that XelaG referred to Eep as
