i_maker: Your system should run tS7 fine. Given when you bought it, I'm guessing you ATI card probably isn't 1 of the X1xxx series, in which case you card is only DirectX 9.0 complient, not 9.0c. What does this mean? Not that much, you just won't get all of the visual effects in the player [I don't know which 1s, & I'm not that bothered yet, as I never really use it].

The 1 thing I would recommend upgrading is your memory, especially with the problems described. Personally I think anyone who's dealing with polycounts as high as you are should have 2GB of RAM. From what I've read there doesn't seem to be that much of an advantage in going over 2GB, as although Caligari has made tS7 to take advantage of more CPU cores than you're ever likely to own in tS7's product lifetime, they don't seem to have embraced advances in memory technology [eg memory over 2GB or NUMA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-Uniform_Memory_Access)].

Brilliant render I_maker, however what's that red light between the exhaust pipes (another brake light?)

Could be some form of reflector? :)

If so, whats it reflecting off? It seems to have the same luminance as the other lights on the back(the circular ones) or maybe they too are reflectors

just.... just.... incredible... I want one of them to go arround in my city...

I guess you take a year because you use only you´r free time after work... but if you are working for a company or any, you can put all your input on that, so you´r time will be only a little % of the year... try to move pro.....

Not trying to be too critical I_Maker but the shot you sent in that is looking through the windscreen. If the handbrake and gear stick are that visible then wouldn't you be able to see the seats;) :D

Thank you, Alien, for your very informative comments about vidoecards/PC performance.

Parva, Gerardo, thanks guys, for your votes!

Hemulin, Stoker, yes that "red" bit between the exhausts is a reflector. You need to remember this car is still under development, with only 1 prototype built so far. When it goes into production, light/reflector fittings will need to be re-fitted to comply with regulations of the countries it will be exported to. Reflections would be of the surrounding which is a white room; this mutes somewhat the colours of the rearlights.

Cheers

These renders are looking, really good. Do you think you could submit some high-res ones, like 1600x1200 please.

For the forum, yes [800x600], but there's no reason why you can't provide a link to a larger 1.

Note: I added a space before the [img] tag to allow it to wrap to the next line, so as not to cause the forum to stretch, but when using this method for posting images this would be unnecessary, as the text wouldn't be seen because you wouldn't be using the [noparse] tag like I did to show the forum code.

I know there is a size limit of 800x600 on this forum however, as I_maker previously posted a high-res image on the old forum (which seems to have a higher limit, or non) he could do the same. It would be really good to have some good high-res shots.

HEY I_Maker! Great job! This is beautiful. And the closer you get to the car the more detail you see!

I was wondering if it would be possible to see a wireframe render. I am curious as to what the mesh looks like. Im a relatively new 3d guy myself, and i want to see what im striving for. Thanks!

mmm, Yeah would be interesting to see the mesh on that car. Maybe if it faded from a full colour render to wire frame??;)

Please don't start badgering I_maker for a mesh. I remember a VERY long thread on the old forums where people went on and on about a mesh for an older car like he had some sort of obligation to post it. Remember, this is I_maker's personal work and a simple request is enough should he wish to post it.....;)

If you can't beat them, join. So, I got myself ts7. Here are my first renders ever in ts7. And I haven't even started exploring the myriad of options ts7 now offers! Boy, am I going to have fun with ts7...
